Hi,
following the tips given in this forum I asked to the support team for the PDK. The incredible answer is to look at the following knowledge base entry:
Answer Title: Acquiring a Plug-in Development Kit for Finale
Answer Link: http://makemusic.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1310

Is the plugin development definitely dead?
Best, Enrico

Not dead, just resting. smilewinkgrin
They do say that they plan to have it available again "soon". Perhaps that means that it is being rewritten in a simpler way....?

Well, since I need to plan the development of a plugin there are some questions that comes to my mind
1) When approx will be the new PDK available? One month, one year....
2) Can I start working with the old one in the meantime or the changes will be drastic?
3) If yes were is it available the previous version?

and more to come....
Best, Enrico

These are questions that only MakeMusic can answer. You'll need to ask them directly.

It's encouraging that the knowledge base entry is from this year. I was expecting something years old.

I too am interested in getting the PDK.

I found this page after finding that completely unhelpful knowledge base entry. Almost three years later, they've made no progress. By contrast, Sibelius has a nice, clean scripting language for writing plug-ins that is fully and publicly documented and readily available. Hint to MakeMusic: Sibelius is looking better and better every day.
