Finale 25 now handles my dual monitor setup significantly more clumisily than 2014.5.

I use a MacBook Pro with a second monitor.

In 2014, new windows open on the larger external monitor. Now (in 25.1), no matter which monitor is the 'primary' (menubar active), Finale opens new document windows and the pallettes on the laptop screen. Annoying. A small thing, I know, but there are SO MANY things in Finale that irritate me every time I use it (which is daily), that it's disheartening to see new ones crop up with each upgrade.

Anyone else notice this, or have a solution?

You can specify which monitor gets used for an app by right-clicking on the app's Dock icon.

It can depend on what apps you have open when you start Finale, too.

Although I save my files, I do not quit the apps I use every day. I reboot in the morning and everything finds the right monitor—I use three.

If I quit an app, it will open on the monitor that I am using currently.

I don't see that as an option when I right-click on an app's dock icon. Is there another step?

Ah, yes. You have to have each monitor as a separate Desktop. Then select the Desktop (what used to be called "Spaces").
