Running Finale.2014.5. Sound is always faint. I have to bump my speakers up every time I use it. Finale 2014 was not like this. Has anyone else had this sort of problem and fixed it? Nothing else I use has this issue. I'm hoping this is just a setting that defaults this way. Running Win 7.

This is a known issue with 2014.5. I believe there is no solution for the issue. Hopefully newer releases of Finale have cured the problem. I don't have v25 yet, but it would be nice if this was solved in v25.

If you are using Aria Player, my guess is that it has so much headroom that the volume is choked, perhaps to accommodate orchestration that has a huge dynamic range. Aria Player has only a fraction of the gain of SmartMusic SoftSynth, which you can try in Score Manager; it offers much greater volume. But some of the soundfonts in Aria Player are superior.
