With a Finale file on screen, I switch to some other program temporarily, like Mail for example. If I accidentally bump the space bar, the Finale file begins to play and cannot be stopped. If I have nothing else to do but watch the cursor moving across the many measure to the end of the piece, the playback will end and I can access the file again. Otherwise, I have to force quit Finale to stop the playback.

It a kind of crash that paralyzes Finale but keeps the playback going. No buttons are pushable and I can't even drag the file window around.

The perceived object...is not a sum of elements to be distinguished from each other and analyzed discretely, but a pattern, that is to say a form, a structure: the element's existence does not precede the existence of the whole, it comes neither before nor after it, for the parts do not determine the pattern, but the pattern determines the parts: knowledge of the pattern and of its laws, of the set and its structure, could not possibly be derived from discrete knowledge of the elements that compose it.
That means that you can look at a piece of a puzzle for three whole days, you can believe that you know all there is to know about its colouring and its shape, and be no further ahead than when you started. The only thing that counts is the ability to link this piece to other pieces...

I'm guessing that none of the problems I experienced recently are mine alone. Perhaps most Finale users have learned to accept frustration along with all the good times, and simply don't bother reporting many issues. Why can't these issues be fixed promptly? I didn't pay for a beta of Finale.
Jamie, I think it's unreasonable to expect a user to "wait out" a bug in the program.
Ronwass, I'm running Fin 2014 and OSX 10.9 with more than enough memory. I've had too many problems to just dismiss them with an "Oh, well." The wasted time adds up.
Zulli, why should we have to be so watchful of every move we make with Finale running? It's not logical nor fair to the users.

Herman I was just joking. I know about these kinds of behavior. I'm sorry if it was taken as a serious comment. I have not had that problem, but with older versions and Windows, I would have a reorganizing of all of my palettes and toolbars when going elsewhere while Finale was open. Finale has had these issues. I was just playing around with the comment.
Sorry,
Zuill
