Hello,
I'm a ragtime composer who uses Finale Notepad Plus. In ragtime, one is required often to change the key several times in the piece, usually in the trio (C strain) usually from major to relative minor, or to the subdominant key, and back again. Is there a way of doing this in Notepad Plus of which I'm not aware?Maybe the "layering" function is necessary? I've tried cutting and pasting from a separate page, but the melody simply adjusts to the original key when pasted into the new location.
I've also run into problems in which the piece ends up in a different key from which I originally intended. Say, the key signature says a piece is in G, but I discover it's actually D. Is there a way to adjust the key sig without modifying the melody?
Also, is there a way one can change the musical instrument once a file is created? Say I created a piece for piano and wanted to know how it sounds in guitar. Is there a way for me to change the MIDI patch?
