I have forgotten how to create the vertical brackets in the attached PDF. I recall using a custom smart line, but what are the settings for the line hooks in EVPU’s ? I need horizontal hook offsets on the vertical line.
Perhaps I created a horizontal line with hooks, which is easy, and rotated it 90 degrees? How did I rotate it?

Use Expression and create custom shapes.

I do it with the Smart Shape Tool. I create a custom line with hooks at each end.

Tip -

If you go the Smart Shape route, press Shift before you click to draw the shape. That will constrain it to a perfect vertical.

Those hooks in your example look to be about 1 space wide. I'd make them more on the order of .75 space.

Engraver font has these brackets for each interval. You can enter them as Articulation.

the nice thing about this option is that Finale takes the spacing for the bracket into consideration when spacing the music, which it will not with a SmartShape.

Finale (started with ver. 3.0) using 2012 (2014 has been shelved for its lack of support for older Garritan libraries), putting Finale 25 through its paces.
Windows 8.1
basically ALL Garritan libraries, plus XSample Chamber Ensemble.

Appreciate all the responses! I'd completely forgotten about the engraver articulations. I did figure out how to make it work with a custom smart line too. To complete the project required both methods, as some of the intervals spanned more than an octave, which is the limit on the engraver articulations without serious tweaking.
