I'm looking for info on how to create finale files and use them in Smartmusic.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Which version of Finale are you using? With Finale 2005 and 2006 there is a special chapter on this in the user manual. Go to the Help menu >> User Manual >> Table of Contents. On the left side, look down towards the bottom for the SmartMusic Accompaniment chapter. It's chapter 44 in Finale 2006.
