Time to pick your knowledge on this. I created a template file using Finale 2005B and I want to make the part extraction a little easier. The page format for parts does not do this much justice and I need your assistance on doing this as a Finalescript (if possible). Let me include the files. File number 1 is the full conductor score. File number 2 is the Extracted part before any cleanup is done. File number 3 is the same extracted part with cleanup. I changed the font size on the composer from 10 to 12. What I would like to know is this. Is there a set of commands I can program Finalescript to to extract the part, set the font size and placement, set the expression markings correctly, and in general, make part extraction and part cleanup less time consuming.

This is the sort of command structure I use (assumes all the parts are currently open, but not the score):
process all open
apply page format
search font [Plantin Bold] 32 and replace [Plantin Bold] 22 scroll view page view save close
Flipping to scroll view then back to page view seems to be necessary to make the "save" command actually "stick", and avoid a "do you really want to save" dialog box coming up.
For anything more complex that Finalescript can't handle (like accessing Staff Attributes) I use a combination of Applescript and iKey (an OS X application) | Back to Top | | Forum Information | Currently it is Tuesday, December 19, 2023 7:55 PM (GMT -6) There are a total of 403,820 posts in 58,165 threads.
