Greetings friends, Am I correct in assuming there is a one year limit on accessing one's posts and subsequent responses? I don't want to loose these valuable bits of information generously given by forum members. Many of the postings concern issues that are infrequently encountered, thus the resolutions (responses) should not be trusted to memory, at least my memory. If the one year limit is correct, I need to consider digital archiving. Right now, I can just search my posts and find what I need.

Where did you hear of a one-year limit? As far as I know, everything I've ever posted is here, but I could be wrong.

I've never heard of a limit, either.

Well, when I went to search, the longest option for the search was 1 year. I hope this is not true.

The option and what's really here are two different things. The search function barely works, if at all. But you can search with Google by including

site:forum.makemusic.com

in the search string.

Here's a Robug posting from 2011:

forum.makemusic.com/default.aspx?f=5&m=336872

I typed

site:forum.makemusic.com Robug 2011

into Google.

There is the post, but no thread.

Wow. Now I am really confused, Motet. The posts on the present MakeMusic Forum seem to only go back to March of 2002. If I joined in 2000, this Forum is earlier than 2002. Where are the the earlier posts?

I went looking for an old and rather long thread on the topic of S-shaped slurs that I started back around then and came up only with what I just posted at this so-called "FinaleForum".

Perhaps they purged purged postings before 2002 at some point but kept the user list.

That's what I did, Michael and came up with the URL I posted, nothing else. In thinking back, I think that my post was a little different in wording from this FinaleForum post.

Does anyone know if there is a relationship between the old FinaleForum and the present MakeMusic Forum?

And does anyone know what happened to the pre-2002 posts on the this forum?

Looks like finaleforum.com is still around. I think it has nothing to do with MakeMusic.

Thanks, Motet. I had forgotten all about that forum. So the mystery involves only the posts on the MakeMusic forum before March 2002. Where are those posts? Did they really purge them? That would be a shame, if only for for historical reasons.
