I am having a problem to make the
beams and stems look the way I want in
cross-staff notation. I am attaching a file
which explains the problem.
Does anyone knows of a solution?
Thanks,
Daniel

Daniel,
I couldn't download Jesper's file, but I'm
sure he got it right. If you would like to see
my solution, here it is.

I couldn't open any of the files. Jesper's file would not download at all. The other two downloaded, but I could not open them.
P.S. I am using a PC and added an .mus to the files in addition to just trying to open directly from within Finale (2002b)
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Graeme

I, too, couldn't open Jespers file.
I think I know the reason:
In the file name you see the character combination %20. That indicates the space character. And the web board software doesn't like file names with a space character. Whenever I post files on this forum I never post files with a space character in the name.
The other two files are compressed. Drag them onto a decompressing utility, like e. g. StuffIt Expander, and they will come out as Finale files that you can open on your Mac. Windows users still might have to add the .mus extension.

Alright, now I don't have the file on this computer, so I'll just explain the 'correct' procedure for cross-staving:
1. Before you use the Reverse Stem Tool (from Special Tools), you should make sure that the stems are in the correct direction regarding the primary beam (use Speedy Entry to flip stem direction with letter L).
2. Select Reverse Stem Tool and click the handles of the stems you want to reverse; in this case the lower handle (because it's down-stem) of the first note. Then use Beam Angle Tool to move the beam up.

Thanks for the responses. I also couldn't
open Jesper's file, but Michael's solution
worked just fine.
Cheers,
Daniel
