Is Finale 2003 better than 2002?

No, it doesn't.

That said, I would say that the 2003 upgrade is only essential if you use TAB notation a lot. The other improvements, while nice, are not terribly important.

I thought the saying was "if it ain't broke don't fix it." No matter.

If it's not broke for you, then don't fix it. I can't say that I'm any better off with 2003 than I was with 2002. I thought 2000 was great and could still be living in harmony with it. But I'm still living in harmony with a 1980 Honda with over a quarter million miles on it.

To me $90.00 translates to 3 to 4 bags of groceries and some beer. Well, maybe 2 bags with the beer.

i still say the t-shirt alone was worth it. i get much more respect in line at the post office these days. "wow, what's that, finale? looks interesting....say, weren't you in here the other day? wanna tell me all about that music notation stuff sometime?" (you get the picture)
