For some strange reason, using the SmartShapes Tool, suddenly the only shape Finale will draw is a crescendo hairpin, regardless of which shape I choose.  The description at the bottom of the screen properly shows the shape I've chosen, but the only shape Finale will make is a crescendo hairpin.  I've been using Finale for many years and this has never happened.  I can't get a slur, trill, or any other shape to draw.  All documents produce the same effect.  If you know what's happening, please help me.  What gives?

Did you try a reboot?

I closed Finale and reopened it but I did not reboot the computer.

Maybe your comma/less-than key is stuck?

Can you get a smart shape by using any of the other shortcut keys?

I think the tapping method is the official solution to a stuck key. My space bar likes to stick, so suddenly Finale will start to playback every time I click. Tap, tap, tap.

Very strange. I never rebooted yet the tool works properly now. I did tap the comma key a few times. I was not aware that there were shortcuts for SmartShapes. Are these in the help manual?

Yeah search for shortcuts. It saves a lot of time - you don't have to manually switch from smart shape to smart shape - they work just like articulation and expression shortcuts. Hold down the shortcut key, double click and drag.
