Since sometime on 13th Sept. the forum has not been e-mailing new posts to me. I have been receiving other e-mails normally & there are no reported problems with my ISP. Also, I have re-checked my User Profile, and nothing has changed there.
Anyone else had any problems?
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Gareth

Last Friday we made some changes to the WebBoard Configuration Table. This likely caused the problem.
Around noon today (Tuesday) we made some additional adjustments so it should now be working. Please let me know if you still have problems.

I've now sent an e-mail directly to Winsupport, pointing out that this is still not fixed; perhaps other people with a similar problem should do the same. Weight of numbers, and all that.......

Nearly a week further on, and still no progress..........
Come on, MakeMusicTech, (or whatever you are called,.....) get a grip!
Is this not a problem for U.S. users?
Is that why it's such a low priority for TechSupport?
I remember posting a rant about pricing, and someone made the observation about MakeMusic not valuing its' UK customer base:...
Remember that we UK users have to continually cope with peer pressure from colleagues in the UK who have been brainwashed into believing that Sibelius is a vastly superior product!
I don't see why I should continue to "go out on a limb" in terms of vociferously supporting "Finale" as a competitor to Sibelius, unless TechSupport addresses this problem as a matter of urgency.........
Your ball.......

far no answer.

I am adding my input to this topic.
I am not receiving my non-digest
messages automatically to email.

OK, so we now have a new forum; having spent some considerable time researching/experimenting-with/buggering-about-with all the various new options/settings, I still can't get it to do what the old forum did, ie: every new post was sent directly (verbatim, not just a notification) to my Inbox. [In fact, it doesn't even seem to consistently notify me of all posts anyway; just a random few......]
If I am missing something, can someone please tell me; if not, then how can this new forum possibly be considered an improvement?
getting more and more pissed-off with MakeMusic by the day...,
Gareth

I did like to see the topics along with the posts, the ability to read only the new answers to a topic. Now I have to jump back and forward and it takes a lot of time.....and
as Gareth points out....the old way of recieving the posts as e-mails was outstanding! You could look at them instantly whe they were posted. Beeing away for some weeks it was easy to read or delete among the 800-1000! posts in your mailbox. Now it will probably only be a quick "all messages read".

After a couple of days of nothingness at my old bookmark, it finally occurred to me (and I finally had the time) to visit the home page and look around. | Back to Top

I HATED the old forum. I'm very happy with the new format. Well, that's all very well, if you didn't rely on the automatic e-mail capabilities of the old forum.
So far as I am concerned, I HATE the new forum, and I was very happy with the old format.
It was so much easier to keep up to date with what people were saying, when each time someone posted, their post was e-mailed directly to your Inbox. Especially if you were away for a few days, then you could catch up at leisure, confident that you were reading the posts in the order they were posted, With the new forum, if you go away on holiday, I can see no possible way that you can come back and have any idea where to start catching up.
Call me an cantankerous old reactionary if you will, (please, I've always wanted to be called cantankerous, especially if I could spell it) but I think the new forum STINKS.

So what about those of us that were mean, nasty and cranky before we got old?
I'm sorta with Gareth, here. The old forums may not have had a hip new look to them, but they were quick and fairly easy to navigate and they worked just fine with older versions of Netscape. I now have to switch browsers in order to read the forums. While that is not too difficult, it is a bit of a time waster when I'm online. I also agree that it's a pain to not be able to see just the new posts in a thread. With the old forums, one had the option to view the entire thread or just the new posts. If that option is available here, I haven't been able to locate it.

PS
If y'all thought you get rid of me by hiding the forums for three or four days and changing the format, you got another think comin'. And I thought you guys were my friends!!?? | Back to Top

Oh my! You have my sympathy. You have nothing to look forward to in your old age.

Me too. But trying to do something about it is like teaching a pig to sing --- it wastes your time and irritates the pig. Let's face it, techie types will never understand why the newest fad with all the latest gimmicks isn't necessarily better. I think it's some kind of mutation in their genes.

It was an IQ test. You passed, but just barely.
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing!
