Is it possible to edit the articulation trill symbol to place brackets around it and if so, how?
The only way I have devised so far is to create a set of parenthesis as an expression, place this in the score then superimpose the 'tr' articulation between the brackets or simply to use the text (tr).
I have searched through the manual and searched the forums but can't find any reference to this.
Many thanks.

Select Font Maestro 24 plain, and with the text tool (inside shape designer), write the sequence of ASCII characters #040, $217, #41 = "(", "Ù" and ")". Save it, select it and Voillá!

Many thanks for your reply.
Would you tell me which menu I should be in to ' select "symbol", and create a new one'.
I have searched through the articulation menus and can't find where this is.
Thanks again.

P.S.: The attached document is for demonstration purposes only. I did not attempt to predict the exact articulation positioning you may want.

I have tried following the manual and got into the Articulation Designer. I couldn't find how to enter the ASCII characters.
The examples you gave are just right .. many thanks to yourself and Thomas.
