They are not supported by MakeMusic but they work really well if you don't rely on playback especially with Audio Units. As far as the icons, do you have them set to "lager icons?" If so, what happens if you turn that off?

I unticked the "use large icons" and the missing icons came back. But when I tried to adjust the palettes, many disappeared, and trying to adjust them with the mouse is very "iffy". Doesn't always respond. A bit hit and miss really. Did you also get the email? Here it is.

Reminder: Finale 2012 Support to be Discontinued Following the release of the new version of Finale on 8/16/2016, technical support for Finale 2012 will be discontinued effective October 1, 2016.
In addition, testing in the upcoming macOS Sierra (10.12) operating system (scheduled to be released on 9/20/2016) suggests that Finale 2012 will not install in the new OS, nor run properly in updated systems. Learn more about macOS Sierra compatibility in this Knowledge Base article.
It's our recommendation that users of Finale 2012 upgrade to the new Finale to enjoy full compatibility with the new OS and support. However, those choosing to continue to use Finale 2012 on Macintosh should be advised to not upgrade to macOS Sierra.
We encourage Finale 2012 users to continue to find support through our Knowledge Base, Learning Center and through the community offered in the MakeMusic Forums.
Because these changes impact support, we are contacting all Finale 2012 users, including those who have opted out of email in the past. Please take this opportunity to make any desired updates to your email preferences via My Account. Finale 25 Finale 2012b.r1 Notepad 2012

Yes, I received the email but have been working in 2012 and Sierra with very little problem. Note that I do not use playback at all so if you need playback then 2012 will not be an option for you. 2012 definitely installs on the new OS. I've been proceeding with caution but since all of my clients use either 2011 or 2012 I have to come up with a solution since MakeMusic cannot…and upgrading is not an option. Works fine as long as Human Playback is disabled. After installing Sierra I noticed that my Simple Entry Note and Rest palettes on Finale 25 were only showing a few icons. I had to drag them to totally horizontal to see all the icons. Even then there was a couple missing. All my macs were the same. Not experiencing that at all. Everything is where it should be and no icons are missing. Both of the Macs that have 25 installed are the same.
I enabled the rest palette by default on the first day (as I always do) but have made no other changes.
Interesting... I see some posts that were made in another thread a few days ago including one of mine. Mike Halloran
