I have a student who upgraded from 8.5 to 9.0.

When trying to re-authorize his subscription, an error says something like "Invalid Password. Please contact your teacher for new password"

He has tried the correct password many times, and I have made sure there are inactive subscriptions for him to activate, and he does not have one currently active according to the website.

Any idea what is going on here?

Assuming you're sure that he is typing it with the correct lowercase/uppercase combination, the next step is just to contact customer support directly. They should be able to figure out what's going wrong.
