My previous version was 2011 and it gradually became so unstable in Yosemite that I couldn't even open Finale without it crashing. So I don't know how much is new just to 2014 or how much was changed after 2011. I've been using Finale for about 20 years for piano music, mostly.
I write music for very young children and children with learning disabilities. I used to be able to change the lyric font AFTER I wrote the music. Now the font has to be chosen, evidently, before I start the new document. If I decide I need a different font, I have to re-write the entire piece. Am I correct in this? Thanks! | Back to Top

Lyrics Tool. Lyrics menu > Lyrics Window…
In the Lyrics window, select the lyrics, and use the Text*) menu to change font, size, style &c.

I've been changing fonts for all these years they way you said, and when I tried to do that yesterday, it didn't work. And today it does. When it didn't work yesterday, I thought maybe it was something new. I checked the help section, and it said to do it before you start the manuscript. Not sure what I did wrong yesterday, probably something silly, but all is good now. | Back to Top

And you have to double-click to activate Click Into Score, and to drag the positioning arrows. I thought it was me. I'm glad that this sort of thing bothers others. Mike Rosen www.specialmillwork.com
