Hi everyone,
I write contemporary music, and sometimes need to add on score signs, symbols... How do i put on score pictures / symbols etc ,
of for example, drum or mallet stick or symbols so that stand for playing with nails or hand, and similar graphics for other instruments?
Thanks,
Manini

Have you looked at the Finale Percussion font? Or if you don't mind paying $100, the November font?

And if you have a font viewer like PopChar, not only can you see at a glance what characters a font contains but you can easily access all the glyphs. Highly recommended.

Also, there are a few percussion symbols in the Toccata font.

If the symbol you need, is not available in any font, then consider creating the symbol as a shape expression.
Just remember to de-select “Allow Horizontal Stretching” in the Expression Designer so that the symbol will not stretch out, if you stretch the measure.

Shapes are created in the Shape Designer.
Instead of using a shape in an expression you can also use a shape in an articulation.

Ohh NOOOOOO, i messed up all my scores all other works and all backups too when
i couldn't find percussion font… i went to "font utilities" box appeared i clicked 'advanced'
then 'reset symbol fonts list to default' and 'ok'. now all my years of finale notation has alien symbols!!!!!!
How can i set it back to normal. 'undoing' not helping and the box has nothing to unmark to reset. Here is screen shot of the page.

Very Avant Garde look. I don't use Mac, so I can't be of help, but I believe on the MakeMusic Support site FAQs page, there is a reference to font situations like this for Mac.
