Thank you everyone for your help so far.  I do have the notes showing up on the computer screen now.  Yeah!  But now I can't hear any sound.  Will it automatically come through the speakers or should I be listening through some headphones and connect it to the keyboard?

What do you have setup as your midi out? Set it to your sound card and make sure your speakers are on and the volume is turned up in Windows.

Start button/all programs/acceserioes/entertainment/volume control

Also, under midi menu/midi thru click on "smart." (in Finale)

I actually got it up and running.  Still don't know what I did to get it working properly but it is now so it looks like I'm good to go.
Thanks for you help.
