It ran fine under Windows 8.1. I upgraded my machine to Windows 10 last night and Finale Guitar no longer works. (Unhandled exception)
Has anyone else seen this happen with old Finale products? Do you have any suggestions on how to get it working again?
Thanks, Dan

It doesn't matter whether it was a in-place upgrade or one in which Windows 10 came preinstalled. | Back to Top

I assume you've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Finale Guitar. I don't know if it would reveal anything, but you could also experiment with hiding the finmidi.dll file just to see if you get further or get a different error message. | Back to Top

It has finmid32.dll, finmid16.dll, and finmidi.dll. I tried hiding all three in various combinations, to no avail. The only error message that I get it the pop up window "Finale Guitar 2003 for Windows has stopped working". When I try running it through the debugger, it just says that there is an unhandled exception.
I am hoping that someone else has seen this problem and found a fix. | Back to Top | | Forum Information | Currently it is Tuesday, December 19, 2023 6:22 PM (GMT -6) There are a total of 403,820 posts in 58,165 threads.
