I love Finale but the one thing I wish for is a plug-in like the Sibelius "Brass Fingering" tool.

Would one of you clever developers consider creating a tool like this for Finale?

Cheers

What does the Sibelius plugin look like when applied? Could you post a small graphic?

I have used Finale's Shape Designer to create fingering "icons" for recorder. The designer is a bit limited, but allows a bit of creative latitude to get something that is your own design. Using Metatools and auto-positioning of expressions will automate input a small amount.

Using a font editor like "Type Tool" (inexpensive) would allow you to make these into font symbols and have almost unlimited creative latitude to design just what you want.

Hi N.

The tool in Sibelius allows you to select any bar (or bars) and automatically enter brass fingering text.  It appears just above the notes as small text.

ie. all open fingering - 0, 1st valve - 1, 1st & 2nd valve - 12, 1st & 3rd Valve - 13

Cheers

Yeah - that would be a nice plugin idea for Finale. You can speed up the process by using Metatools to enter the text, but that could be a bit of work if lots of fingerings are required.

Good luck,
N.
