I have 30 or so hymns some of which are over a page and some of which are under a page. Each is in a separate Finale file. Now I need to combine a few to get rid of empty space and reduce the page count.
Is there any way to do this in Finale and keep the layout exactly as it is (in terms of note spacing, system spacing, lyric adjustments, etc.)?
Some little thought in the back of mind keeps whispering Framemaker, but before I invest money and time to learn it, I want to make sure I haven't missed something.
Thanks for all the help I get here in this forum!

How about running the paper through the printer multiple times?
If you create "layout files" intended for this kind of printing, I suggest using the Layout Manager that is currently under development in the Forza! 0.17 betas (download it from the forza-talk group). That way there's no guesswork about where the first/last staff lines of the separate pieces will appear on the printed paper.
[Later versions of the Layout Manager will probably include a merge feature as well (but that will require Fin2003 or higher).]
Best regards,

Paula - In many hymnals the problem is solved by inserting prayers or readings on those partially-used pages. I can't think of an instance where singers are required to turn pages in the middle of a hymn. Hymns requiring more than one page are set on facing pages. Of course, I haven't examined all the hymnals that exist, so you may have more knowledge on this subject than me.
You can always string one hymn after another as one huge single file (adding measures and pasting material in from the individual files I assume you have created). That seems complicated to me, but it would allow you to space things out the way you want.
Of course, there's always cut-and-paste, but that can get messy.
