I am thinking of buying this but I have one concern.  I was told that I could type my own music into finale and use it with this practice software.  Do you know if this is true?  I have made practice cd's with finale of the required all-state etudes and it seems that this would be better.  I have not seen this written on the site I was looking at.

You can certainly write stuff in Finale and save it as Smart Music files. It works very well. What you have done can also be nice, but with a practise CD it's not possible to change tempos, which is something of the most clever parts of Smart Music. In addition to this you can transpose the accompagnement and make practise loops. I can't imagine you would ever regret to a subscription of smart music.
