What MakeMusic product and version are you using? What do you mean that the palette "doesn't work?" Is it missing? (If it is then right click anywhere on the toolbar and select "Smart Shape Palette.") If you click on a smart shape icon, then double click in the score where you want it to begin and drag the mouse, what happens? Can you edit existing smart shapes or move existing ones? We really need a bit more information here.

Im using finale 2011. The palette doesnt missing, but when I' m trying to assign the hairpin (by dubleclick and drag the mouse ) it describes a dotted square, not the sign for crescendo...
I do not know if I can move the existing ones, becouse I havent others .. I can only edit the sign for crescendo, glissando, guitar bend and bend tools.. the rest doesnt work..
Thank you for the reply :)

You'll get the dotted square if you're only single-clicking. Check your mouse settings, or reboot the computer.

There's a double-click speed you can set. If you click slower than the setting, it won't recognize the double click. Go to the touchpad/mouse controls and there should be a place to test it and to set it.
