Since I upgraded to Finale 2014.5 for Windows, when Finale is running my audio will not work on the rest of my PC, only on Finale. This was not the case prior to the upgrade. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I don't have that problem, but there was a change in the way Finale sets the sample rate. Maybe there is a connection. I had to change my PC setting to 44100 because all my files with embedded mp3's (for take down work) were playing at the wrong speed (mp3 at 44100 and computer at 48000 doesn't work well). Once I set my PC to 44100 all was well.

May not be any relation to my problem (reported here on the forum), but you never know.

I double checked and my PC is set to 44100, so that is ok. Very strange.

This is the problem I always used to have UNTIL 2014.5! In those advanced sound controller settings in Windows control panel, there are settings for shared use of the sound card, and for whether applications are allowed to take control of it or not. I don't know if there are settings somewhere for whether Finale (or Aria player) takes control of it or shares it, but that's where I would be inclined to do some sleuthing. It sounds to me like that is what's happening. Or if you are using a different output device (ASIO driver for instance - do you have Protools/Mbox?) you may want to look at that & whether it can be shared.

If you're using an ASIO driver that would be the case. ASIO doesn't share. Try changing to Direct Sound.
