There are new pieces in the revised editions, so it will not always be possible to just fall back on the originals. Also, these failures happened in lessons, costing my students time. I'd rather not have to play through ever piece in every book to make sure they all play back correctly.
That said:
Revised book 1: perpetual Motion in D "The selected accompaniment cannot be opened." Other pieces in the book play back fine, just this one that I've found so far. I have removed and redownloaded the book, but it still fails to play PM in D.
Revised book 3: Both Gavotte in G minor and Bach Bourree say they need to download a new component. The first time it seemed to start, but failed somewhere along the way. I was definitely connected to the internet. Now, at home, while definitely connected to the internet, I get "There was a problem downloading a component. Please check your internet connection and try again." Then "Unable to load 'BigBasso.sfx'." Other pieces in the book playback fine.
This is a fresh install on a new computer. I have had no previous versions. I had no problem with these accompaniments on an older machine. What can I do to correct these errors? | Back to Top

I already had to do that when my catalog failed to update when I upgraded to 2011, and I'm just not doing that again. If you can help me just find and remove the offending bigbasso.sfx and redownload just that, I would appreciate it. I have not yet been able to find the file simply by searching the hard drive.
The only security software I'm running is Microsoft Security Essentials. SM had no trouble downloading any other components. | Back to Top

The support staff has given me locations that don't exist and want a complete removal and reinstall, which I'd rather not do if I can avoid it. Do you know where the soundfont folder lives in Win7 Pro? | Back to Top

I'm all for digging thought the files I have before resorting to starting over. | Back to Top | | Forum Information | Currently it is Tuesday, December 19, 2023 7:47 PM (GMT -6) There are a total of 403,820 posts in 58,165 threads.
