Has anyone figured out what Finalescript language works to get Finale to load Palettes and Backgrounds from Program Options? I've tried "press" and "click," but the palettes and backgrounds don't load. And if there are other commands that follow in a script, does Finalescript know to wait to execute the next command until the backgrounds and palettes load, or would it wait automatically until they load before executing the next command?

So after calling up Program Options, use "list palettes and backgrounds"? I'll try that. I wish I weren't syntax-challenged. lol

Thanks!

Is "PC to load" part of the script? Thanks.

No no, just the separated part.

The "list" command I found in someone else's script here trying something else in Document options where I had hard times selecting the correct parameter. I just figured it would work in program options too.

I FINALLY got a script to work that changes the manuscript texture back to the program option I had set (after Finale hijacks it). This annoyance has been going on since 2006. Here's the script that works for me:

Menu item "program options"
list "palettes and backgrounds"
click radio "solid color" near "Manuscript Texture"
click OK

Note that I don't have to include anything about setting a color in the script because my settings stick--it's just that Finale arbitrarily changes the texture back to the default.

There were two keys to getting this right. First, I needed the command "list," not click, or hit or anything else. So far, only "list" gives Finale enough time to load those items before moving on to the next script command. Second, I needed the "near" specifier for the solid color item because there are two "solid color" options in that window.

Special thanks to all who helped me--over the years--get the language and syntax right. scool
