You can have independent key signatures (with the Staff Tool) on full Finale... probably not on the other programs, though. Which one are you using?

... or are you talking about a Bb trumpet and needing it to print with the part transposed properly? For example, if a piece is in the key of C, the trumpet part should be printed with 2 sharps, but a piano would still show no sharps or flats..

More than likely the staff isn't set up properly to begin with, or the person is working in concert pitch.

If the composer says in effect to the performer: "I do not care whether you perform my music or not," we cannot argue the matter. But if he indicates: "I want you to perform and respond to this music," then his fundamental duty is to write his music so that it is accessible to interpretation. When the performer cannot approach the composer's meaning because of capriciously obscure notation, he may in effect say to the composer: "Why should I bother to puzzle out your music?" - Gardner Read

Allegro does not have independent key signatures. There is nothing in the knowledge base about transposing in Allegro, either. Look in the help files under Transpose. If there isn't anything there, you can't do it. As Flint said, make sure that you aren't in concert pitch, and that the correct staff is being used.

You could also post the file for us to look at.

Most important: Please add the program you're using to your signature, in the forum Control Panel.
