Hi Mark,

Is your book, Finale 2014 - A Trailblazer Guide available as an eBook?

I wish! All I see is a paperback option, like 2012. I bought the 2012 book a while back but I have always wished for an ePub or PDF option for my tablet. Pleeeeeeeease? :) Some of us don't want to lug around 100 texts and manuals? Danke!

So I guess the author has no interest in ebooks. We have to lug around paperback books and manuals. Lovely. Thanks a bunch!

Because he hasn't replied? This site is primarily for users. There is no expectation that posting here equates to asking MM a question.

In fact, Michael has only recently returned to MM as an employee in the November shake-up. He is now QA Manager.

lol almost. If it were me, I'd want to expand and earn money however I could on a book I spent time and energy writing. Better be safe though. Stick to print. Who really knows where this wacky "e-stuff" comes from anyways from within the interwebz. :)

MM already provides detailed electronic documentation for Finale. However, there have been lots of cries here for a printed manual, and that's the market that the Trailbreaker guide serves.
Is it worthwhile for the publisher to spend time and money re-purposing the book into an ebook, when the Help files cover the subject in more depth?

That is your opinion. The Trailblazer book is a far superior text as far as documentation goes. You see? :) Everyone prefers something different. I was merely pointing out that the author clearly has no "rush" to branch out his text to a wider audience and offer an ebook. I don't care about the printed MM "manual". Are they still using CHM for that? lol or is it finally a PDF?

The question is whether there's enough of a known market to make it worthwhile.

How do you know what the author (or publisher) cares about? MM doesn't offer a printed manual. Hence the Trailblazer guide's market.

It's HTML. They haven't used CHM for years, so you've clearly not read it.

LOL Ron. Please. I was not nasty anywhere in this thread. I was wanting to give the author of the book money for an ebook. But I cannot. Done. If you truly think anything I said in this thread was by definition "nasty" than you are incredibly sensitive and just looking for something to complain about towards me. I'm the complainer here, not you. :) I am sure the author of the book is far more secure. I don't see why he wouldn't want to earn more and expand his audience. Nasty lol. You're too much.

The author of this book is Mark Johnson. Michael Johnson holds a different position at MM.

Oops. My mistake. Too many Johnsons, so to speak.

Still don't know what the other guy was on about.

I believe Mark was replaced by Jonathan Tschiggfrie (which, at least to me, seems to be much more responsive than Mark ever was regarding the Finale documentation).

I see Ron has gone back and deleted his post. Now only my reply remains. I see he had second thoughts about his post which was wildly inaccurate, accusatory, and disposable. Now then back on topic. The Trailblazer series is by far the best Finale documentation I've seen. I couldn't even make it through the MM manual and I'm a fairly good reader. I'm learning more each and every day. :)

You have no idea why I deleted my post, but that hasn't prevented you from making up a "wildly inaccurate, accusatory, and disposable" comment.

So it matches all of his other posts. No, wait, that was somebody else, with a different name...

I was wondering when Mike would chime in this thread :) Between his unnecessary wide-spaced signature full of veiled bragging and Ron's hilarious "power user" PC specs along with his "Beats Audio" soundcard LOL. Really pro combo there. What a duo.
No crying now.

Let's keep this thread on topic ok folks?

Veiled bragging? Not at all. I'm quite proud of what I do.

Why would you write this instead of contacting Mark Johnson? You had no reason to believe he ever read this thread. What made you decide to jump on a podium instead of looking for an answer from the only source that could give it?

This is a character question. Why did you choose to post this in a public forum where you had no reason to believe Mark would see it, but others would?

I didn't start the thread. I just offered my thoughts on the matter. Perhaps you should ask the OP and not direct at me.

No, my question is for you. The OP didn't resurrect a 43 day old thread that Mark Johnson was obviously unaware of to say, "We have to lug around paperback books and manuals. Lovely. Thanks a bunch!" I'm curious to know why you did that. I'm sure you would agree with the conclusion the rest of us came to - Mark wasn't here to see the original post. So why did you choose to take this swipe?
