For example, in 2014 I was able to hit Function 9 and it would change to the articulation tool. That feature saved countless hours in editing sessions. Please tell me it didn't go away. iMac 2016, 16GB RAM, 512 GB SSD. MacBook Pro, 4GB, Finale 3.2-2014.5, Logic Studio Pro, Mainstage, Miroslav Philharmonic, SampleTank, Axiom 25 | Back to Top

Go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > App Shortcuts. Click the "+" button, choose the Finale version, type in the Menu title, type in the desired shortcut, and you're set. I think you have to restart Finale before any new shortcuts will work.

Look at this link into the manual. Your answer is on the 7th & 8th lines under the General dropdown.

These shortcuts are document specific.
Note that a similar feature is found on the Windows side that uses the row of F keys on the top of the keyboard. Perhaps you are confusing Mac and Win. "Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!"

Here's a scan of the work copy that I have been using in Finale 2014. I'm assuming that because I can't access it in Finale 25 that the feature has been removed. iMac 2016, 16GB RAM, 512 GB SSD. I know that I've been using them for a couple of years and they really speed up the editing process, allowing you to jump from tool to tool as needed.
I have 2014 on my old laptop and just installed 25 on a new iMac. Following the advice of others on this forum, I'm keeping the older version so I can scan and use a couple of plug-ins that are not in the latest version. iMac 2016, 16GB RAM, 512 GB SSD. Use shortcuts and select "app shortcuts", then add the Finale application. To set up each tool type the name exactly, then hit the key combination for the shortcut (in my case a function key). Do that for each tool you want to retrieve via shortcut. There are some tools that don't respond, but you can refer to my jpg above and see that I was able to program 16 different tools or contextual menus.
The only hitch is you have to go through the other Apple keyboard shortcuts and disable those that have the same key you want to use.
Thanks for all the suggestions. iMac 2016, 16GB RAM, 512 GB SSD. MacBook Pro, 4GB, Finale 3.2-2014.5, Logic Studio Pro, Mainstage, Miroslav Philharmonic, SampleTank, Axiom 25 | Back to Top

If you want to go to the Articulation Tool, just double click on any articulation in view and you're there. Double click on an expression and you're switched to that tool, etc., etc. so on and so forth.
