How do you make one note out of a measure alternate notation? Not the whole measure? In staff icon?

Then what?

With the staff tool, select just the region of the measure that you want. Then, apply the alternate notation

Thanks as always, Mike.

I did that . . . Staff tool, then I click on the note, but it highlights the entire measure. I found one tutorial where the options include "single note" but I can only locate the options for the types of notation, but no option to select note. I swear I once found the option for single note within the alternate notation prompt. Is it one of those contextual menu things?

I also tried clicking on selection tool, then staff tool, but it reverts back to highlighting the whole measure.

Argh. Any other advice?

Thanks,
Cave Gir.

The trick is selecting a partial measure. Use the selection tool, or the staff tool. Click and hold with the cursor above the measure, and drag diagonally down across the measure, releasing when you are below it. You will see a dotted box around the area, changing to a selection when you release the mouse button.

The rest is practice, learning to select the portion of the measure that contains the entire beat of the note.

BTW, why did you post this in this forum? You should have put it in the regular Windows (or Mac) forum.

Thanks. Sorry for being in the wrong forum . . . I came in through an old posting, which was probably wrong entry. I see it says Plug in Development, and I should probably have gone to MAC Finale.

In other words, I'm completely IGNORANT of this whole universe!!!! But not stupid. And usually teachable. After all, I am
