Our school moved us all to Dell laptops that only have a combo jack in them (headphones plus mic in one). Does anyone know the specific name for the type of adapter I need to get to be able to use our old SM mics with this new jack?

Thank you!

Chad,

Thanks for posting. Using an 1/8th inch to USB adapter, or dongle, would allow you to connect the Microphone to the computer, freeing the headphone/microphone port for your speakers. Some computers with this dual function port use lower grade sound cards, so make sure that the computer meets the minimum system requirements. www.smartmusic.com/Support/SystemRequirements.aspx
