Hi everyone,
Could you help me solve this problem: I have finale 2012, Mac, Lion version.
When i make blank not head as shown below finale gives strange signs or letters on the score (only in pdf and print and not in finale itself).
How do i avoid this, and why is it happening?! I make the blank note heads using social tool box.
Thank you, Mani

Try using the JW Change plugin to hide the noteheads - it's a free download:

Choose an alternative blank character for the hidden noteheads. Somewhere in the process (I have seen it myself in pdfs, though not when printing the same file to paper) certain "blank" slots in the music font are replaced by a same size (i.e. 24 pt) equivalent character in a default font. This definitely is a problem in 2014.

It's the plugin called "JW Change" - scroll down the download page to find it. The window for hiding noteheads looks like:

Special tools: the notehead change tool looks like X. use this and double click the notepad, then you can select another character.
You can also select a region then select Change> noteheads. This leads to the same dialog box.

Jar's pi is fine too.
