Yes, I've rebuilt the Classic desktop and it made no difference. It seems to happen when I try to launch the programme by opening the file. Having said that, I just tried launching the programme and then opening the file by clicking on it (ie with the programme already running): same story. Then I tried to open the file from within the programme and the file opened fine.

Please don't worry too much about this. It's certainly odd, but it doesn't prevent me opening files.
