ok, here's the deal...
i orchestrated a song, and i did a lot of copy and pasting after i had the piano reduction entered...
is there a way to now take the piano reduction and separate out now for example the top note of the treble cleff into a flute part on its own?

mass edit lets me single out individual beats, but i can't figure out a way to separate out individual notes, or "melodies"?
is this even possible??

Use "explode" in mass edit to separate out the top line of a harmonised melody.

This is how you would take a melody line from a piano reduction.

Copy the right hand of the piano reduction to the flute line.

Mass edit/select the measures/type "2"-the short cut for "explode"/Choose split into "1" stave/"extra notes"-choose "discard"/"Place Music Into" choose existing staves starting with "Flute" (the instrument you have selected)
