I have the trial version of 25.

I was told by the support tech that I could still use 2014.5 to import tiff files.

However... this no longer seems to work.

Suddenly, I am getting an error. See attachment.

This is a tiff file from a PURCHASED pdf. This is for home use only...

Yes, I still have smartscore lite.

Did the folks at finale do something sneaky to disable the importation of tiff files in 2014.5?

There might be an issue with the TIFF file. I would open the file with Preview, then go to File > Export and convert it to PDF (set PDF in the drop down menu). That might shock it into behaving, and the resolution should not be affected, I think.

Well, that was unexpected...

I took your advice and opend the original pdf in preview, then did a Save, to tiff. No "permissions" issues appeared using preview.

That created a tiff with two pages.

I then imported that into 2014.5, and had zero trouble getting it to work.

Thank you, Preview, I mean Apple.

And thanks, Mr. "N".

If I remember correctly, Finale may have a problem with TIFF files that have LZW compression. LZW is frequently an option when saving TIFFs, but it has traditionally caused many problems. (And file storage is not so constrained as it was.)
