I have re-installed Finale 2014, Garritan Instruments for Finale ARE NOT listed in my list of choices. Anyone know why?

As far as I know, at this point in time, NO Garritan library will install in ANY version of Finale automatically.  You have to go to the MM (Garritan tab) Website and download the auxiliary zip file for your Garritan product, unzip it and MANUALLY install the necessary auxiliary files in the appropriate directories per the instructions.

[EDIT]  Sorry, I misread your post.  Garritan Instruments for Finale (GIFF) should certainly install, as it is bundled in Finale.  I think the install of the samples is a separate install, but should have been called during the install of the whole package.  It should have worked.  I have no idea why it didn't for you.

Charles, neither does Tech Support. I will call them again tomorrow. This update is a nightmare. I broke my own rule: Never be the first to download a new major upgrade! Oh, well!

Hi,
I am wondering if you got that working and if you did, what you had to do? I am having the same issue. Being a choral composer I have come to like the Garritan Choir sounds a lot better then the other sounds so I really would like to have the garritan sounds back.
Thanks!

You're not the first. Garritan should normally install just fine.

When Finale installs, you should get a "second" installer that runs the GIFF pacakage. You will get a dialog asking you where to install the samples, (rather confusingly, IMO).
Do you get this, or no?

Have you tried Customzing the Finale installation to ensure that GIFF is selected?

What OS X version are you running? What, exactly, do you do; what happens when you do it; and what doesn't happen that you wanted to happen?

On the installer disk you'll find a folder "External". Inside are the installers for GIfF. You should be able to run them.

I made a discovery here on my case. I was trying to install Finale on my F: drive instead of the default C: drive. As soon as I installed it on my C: drive it worked. Hopefully that might shed some light to others who have this problem.

Note to anyone at finale who might read this: I would love if you would make it work when installing on a drive other then C:.

For anyone in a similar situation, you can install Finale 2014 and Garritan files onto a seperate drive except for the fact the Garritan likes to put the instruments on C drive regardless of whether you specify a different drive or not.

I fixed this on my install by moving the files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Finale 2014\Data\ onto my other drive - in my case: E:\Program Files (x86)\Finale 2014\Data\
