No date has been announced, though their website says "coming soon." They probably won't give a specific date.

Um, I just updated my copy and it said that version 9 is out and I need to update it from the website. There's just 8.5 on the site, though.

Hard for me to tell exactly from the little clips from the album at Amazon. It seems to me you get the basic melody stuff that would be written out, but in the middle section of each song, where I'm guessing he's improvising, you just get the chord changes so you can practice your own improv.
