I would advise caution when applying the Sierra update. There is an option to activate Apple's new iCloud feature: "Documents & Desktop". If you're not careful, it's easy to click through the Setup and turn this on (or it may be on by default, YMMV).

This feature then syncs your Documents & Desktop folders between all your devices. If your upload speed is anything like mine, this may take DAYS. Furthermore, you'll need a iCloud subscription that can accommodate your data. It's difficult to undo if you change your mind, and the implementation may not be to everyone's tastes.

So far I'm loving the Sierra update. Clean install on my MacPro (Mid 2010) with a new HD. Since I don't use playback and most of my clients still use 2011 and 2012, I'm finding these two versions speedier than ever. Even Quickeys is still chugging along...at least for my needs. I'm pleased so far. I'll post back in a few days to see if everything is still rosy.

Cheers!

This might be of interest /eclecticlight.co/2016/09/21/dropbox-sierra-and-icloud-your-data-is-at-risk/ (potential problems for some users between Dropbox, iCloud and Sierra).

I'm getting one feedback (1 so far) that the problems encountered by 2014.d with 10.11.6 are gone after a 10.12 Sierra update (Crashes with articulations and expressions).
To be confirmed...

A few FULL days of working on Sierra in FIN 2012 (and a little in 2011). Still pretty positive.

The only issue I've found (which isn't new), if you have a file that is setup with Audio Units adding staves and working with TGTools part extraction plugin will crash the program. The easy fix is to open the file in FIN25, set to "Play through Midi," get rid of everything setup in Audio Units "Banks & Effects," perform the TGTools parts plugin and Export as a FIN 2012 file. Note that all the work I do is using separate part files so I'm not sure how that would work with linked parts but I'm sure it would be the same. Best thing to do, if you're just engraving, don't use Audio Units. Trying to remove AU from the v25 file, exporting to 2012, and then running TGTools results in a crash because those darn AU are in the file somewhere and cycle through as TGTools is working. This is really a minor annoyance in my case. If you don't have AU setup, everything runs beautifully as expected.

Finding interesting bugs in v25 on Sierra like the enlarged tool bar icons will not show all of the tools and the reported problem of not being able to resize the tool bar with all the icons moving around to fit in it.

More info after a week or so...

I'm liking Sierra a lot. 25 and 2014.5 are working fine ... well, no bugs I haven't seen already in El Cap, at least. I never resized my toolbars so haven't experienced the 'disappearing icons'. issue.

I installed 2011c just to test and it is also good as long as I don't engage Human Playback, of course.

I never had 2012 and won't bother with 2014.
