It's finished, I only need to make the installer. So today or in a few days.

TGTools 2.71 for Mac has been released, finally fixing the menu on German Finale versions and fixing smart shapes which could not be recognized in 2.70.

TGTools 2.71 for Windows has been released and it is recommended for Finale 2010 thru 2014.

Thanks!

I still use 2005 occasionally. Will the new TGTools work with that, and if not, can the old and new TGTools coexist?

For 2005, I recommend to use version 2.61 of TGTools.

Every Finale version has its own Plug-Ins folder, so yes different versions of TGTools can co-exist.

Moreover, the new installer for Windows will not even try to install into Finale 2005.

I had 2.60, and it looks like the 2.61 installer is smart enough to install itself in the 2005 directory, not 2011, so I was able to simply run both with no fuss. Thanks.

Tobias, does TGTools Align/Move 2.71 recognize dynamics by category or does it draw from a database you've created?

If you open up the Finale 2014 default file the align/move plugin won't move the a "subito p" dynamic but will move a "p" dynamic. If I create a "subito" expression in the dynamics category and insert it in the score the plugin will not move it either. But if I change that "subito" expression to use the music font (it'll appears as clef signs and other musical gibberish) the plugin will move it.

The plugin already works with common expressions like "dim." but is there a way to get the plugin to align/move all user created expressions that begin with text that are located in the dynamics category (e.g., molto f, subito p)?

TGTools is from long before Expression Categories, so I assume this'll be one of the things Tobias will need to change to make the plugin completely compatible with the later versions of Finale.

I have often wondered how it decides which to move and which to leave alone.
