When I select Lyric -> Type Into Score and click the first note in the attched file, strange things happen: Foreign characters are added with every mouseclick.

What's going on there?

That happens for me too. Note that you can change words in the Lyrics window without it happening.

I'm assuming this is only a problem with this file, possibly because it was created with 2008 and migrated to 2014.

This is a very, very old bug. It has been reported and reported, but to no avail. It is caused by mixing fonts (or font styles) in a syllable. As long as you edit in the window, and not in the score, you are fine. Finale does not allow editing of mixed fonts in a syllable in the score without this bug manifesting itself.

Please report this to support so they will have just one more case to hopefully convince them to get this fixed.
