Ok I have finale songwriter;

1) How can I transpose a part of music automatically? (when I try right clicking and then selecting transpose nothign happens)

2) Other than MIDI format are any of the other formats intercompatible between finale versions?

1) You can transpose staves with the key signature tool. To use the Mass Edit>Transpose, you have to have measures selected.
2) All formats are forward and sideways compatible. Only XML is backwards compatible.

What versions are involved? If you have NP2009, it won't work on Finale 2008. That's what I mean by not backwards compatible.

Songwriter and Allegro are currently at version 2007. MM won't give any info about future plans. NotePad, PrintMusic, and Finale are at v. 2009.
