I have a question about editing lute tablature with Finale. One of Finale's options is to employ French, i.e. letter tablature. In the 17th century, this notation was employed for lutes with a number of extra bass ('diapason') strings. Here is a fragment of tablature for such an instrument (rhythm notation left out):

-------------------------
--a--a-----a-------a--d--
--------a----------------
-------------------b-----
--e----------------------
--c----------------------
    /a       ///a

Diapason strings are indicated below the staff as follows:
a   : first diapason string
/a  : second
//a : third
or as:
5a, 6a etc.

So far I have been unable to add such characters to my tablatures. Is there any way of doing so, preferably one that makes musical sense (playback etc.)?
Thanks a lot for your help.
