I select a measure stack, press enter to open measure attributes DB. When I click Double Barline, the counter just above telling what measure I am in, increases one measure, not allowing me to change measure I'm in.

Anyone seen this? What to do?
It does not happen in all measure regions... Maybe that's a lead.

Edit: Tried recreating all the regions. It happens when I arrive at region 27. (I am setting up the frame before starting to enter the actual music). If I switch to "View actual measure numbers" in Preferences, the behaviour changes to normal.

But why only at this point in the score? It also affects the time signature DB, it changes another measure than the one intended.

It also does not seem to matter whether I create the new region manually or with JW Start New Piece, which I have been using.

It is a well known bug, caused by, in Measure Attributes, de-selecting “Include in Measure Numbering”.
The bug will appear with all measures after a measure not included in measure numbering.

As you have found out, you can avoid the bug by selecting “Display Actual Measure Numbers”.
NB:
Selecting “Display Actual Measure Numbers” only affects dialog boxes in the program.
Selecting “Display Actual Measure Numbers” does not affect the layout in the document where you will always get/print the Defined Measure Numbers.

Ahaa, so that's what it is! Thanks a lot for clarifying. At least I now know why it happened. As I have a look at it again, I can see that it only occured after me creating an upbeat measure that I had to not include in the measure numbering. Would it be a better practice then, to adjust the regions instead of unchecking the include box?

Thanks Peter.

That's what I do, since I like "Display defined measure numbers." I never uncheck “Include in Measure Numbering”.

They really should fix this. How hard can it be?
