The smart hyphens and smart word extensions are real good.
But if the file is becoming bigger and bigger they are so slow like not responding.
Simply you can NOT work with them. You must deactivate the options of smart hyphens and words extensions.

Well, I have a question about smart word extensions.

My 2004 arrived today, and I enthusiastically pulled it from its packaging and installed it. I have just finished a chart and turned on smart word extensions, and they seem to be okay except for when the word is at the end of the stave. If it's too near the end, it won't get a word extension at all. However if I set the 'minimum length' setting for word extensions to zero, as well as word extensions at the end of lines, I get little tiny ones after EVERY WORD, regardless of whether it lasts for more than one note or not.

Any help? Suggestions? This is enough of a bug to make this feature completely useless.

I too have had trouble with this feature. I've found that if there is a chorus following on only the first verse line, the second and third verses have extensions that go to the end of the piece (i.e. all through the chorus).

I can delete the extensions for those verses manually, but if the last word of the verse needs an extension for a tied note, for example, that gets lost too.

Another smart word extensions question...

In 2001, I could type alt+0160 to generate a 'space' that I could then apply a word extension to, useful for 2nd time bars etc. I tried this in 2004 but with no success, as I don't get a word extension handle to drag. I looked in the manual, and couldn't see any mention of it. Does any one know of a new work around to this problem?

Incidentally, on page 25 of chapter 32 in the new users manual, it says:

"Changes made in this dialogue box apply to existing word extensions as well as those that already appear in the score"

Well, I'm glad that's clarified.

Cheers,

Jared

Well, I think it's more than clarified. It's also made more clear.
