How does SmartMusic compare to BIAB?  How many of you use it for jazz guitar?  I don't see guitar as a choice for instrument?  Jim

It's really a pretty different type of program than BIAB. And the support for guitar right now is almost nonexistent in SM - if that's what you're looking for, SM probably isn't for you. If you're curious about SM, I believe you can download the program from www.smartmusic.com and try it out in demo mode.

Where BIAB uses preset accompaniments that you can add parts into, SM is more about interactive accompaniment and assessment, meaning that it listens to you play to figure out what notes you're playing and reacts based on that. Since this technology is not as far along with polyphonic instruments (like piano and guitar), support for these instruments has not really become available yet.
