The biggest problem for me when I moved to Finale 2004 in OS X Panther was the loss of the Jari Williamsson plug-in that created system dividers on a finished score.

I e-mailed Jari the other day to ask if there were plans to develop the plug-in for OS X, but alas there are not.

However, the source code for the original plug-in is available at:

http://www.jwmusic.nu/freeplugins/sources/index.html

I know absolutely nothing about plug-in development, but is this a huge task to undertake?

I think that you would have to know a bit about it to start with.

Maybe one option would be to get someone like Philip Aker to go through and prepare them for OS X. We could get a collection of money going through PayPal and pay him (or Jari himself?) for the time needed to get them going in 2004/2005/+. I wonder how much it would cost...

I've missed this plugin also. I've downloaded the source code but haven't started to work on the conversion. Although I haven't done Finale plugins before, I am a professional software developer with many commercial products under my belt and with all of the necessary tools and knowledge. The problem is time... But if there was a bit of money involved I might be able to make some time. The plugin would still be free, as this is in Jari's license agreement. If there is enough interest, I could start on it.

As I wrote on the SHSU list earlier today, Tobias will port my most used freeware plug-ins to OSX. The ports should not be far away.

This is fantastic news! Thanks for pursuing this.

I was looking for your post on the SHSU list. How does one subscribe to or view these postings?

Hello!

Tobias has just ported JW Divider to OSX (Finale 2004-2005 for Mac).
http://www.jwmusic.nu/freeplugins/

You also need PDK Tools to run this plug-in, available next to the download link.

According to Tobias, the small arrow controls don't fully work, so don't report that.
