Hi y'all,

Is there a music spacing setting that I'm missing to prevent collisions between notes in one layer and natural signs in another? (I've attached a png image as an example.)

Thanks,
Arnold Friedman

Hoe many measures do you have on this system? Do you have the Systems locked? If the systems are locked and there are enough notes w here it might normally move a measure down to the next system and space hte music out, it may not be doing that and keeping the number of measures on this system set. In essence, scrunching your music together to all fit in this system regardless of how many notes you have.

Maybe attaching the an MUS file example might give us a better idea.

Hi, and thanks. You seem to imply that Finale (this is 2008) should be fixing the spacing automatically.

No, the systems are not locked. I fixed the measure manually, but just for grins, selected it and respaced it (Command-4), only to get the same result. It's easy enough to fix, but I'd rather spend the time making sure I haven't written any parallel fifths. ;-))

Here's the file. The problem measure is 2:9. (2:14 is pretty ugly too.)

Thanks again,
Arnold
