When the unmeasured tremolo (3
slashes) is used via the articulation tool,
it's main body of the slashes is aligned
under the notehead.
The question is, is this the standard
placement for these slashes or should
they be centered on the stem.
It just looks funny when the majority of the
articulation if under the notehead.
What's the rule on the placement of tremolo articulations?

In Kurt Stone's Music Notation in the
Twentieth Century, they are centered on
the stems and not the noteheads. I do
think that it looks at lot nicer centered on
the stems, but Finale's default placement
is not correct.

Eric,
Thanks for confirming my intuition. I'll mess around with Finale's default articulation settings for the tremolos.
