Just a question gang. Can Finale be made to playback a piece over and over without having to click on play again? When I do my arranging for the singing group I would love to be able to listen 10 times in a row so I can catch all that is going on with all the voices. Just wondering. Thanks gang. Have a good one.

Bill,

You can use repeat designer. In repeat text only
type spaces. In repeat assignment: choose
"Jumper" and set the first measure in the "Target"
box and check "Repeat Until Total Passes". Type
"Total Passes" according to you wishes. Now you
got an invisible repeat of that section.

Very good, Bjorn. But I would suggest putting some text in --- like "temp repeat" or something so I wouldn't lose track of it. I would probably want to get it out of there when the score is finished.

If one doesn´t type anything at all it will write out
the total passes which can be a good reminder.

Hello Bjorn. I have never designed a repeat before. Do I go to the tools menu and click on repeat and follow that trail? Thanks - Bill

Hi Bill,

Use Repeat Tool
Click on the lasr measure of those you want to
loop.
Click Create
Here you can type text or not as discuss earlier in
this thread.
Click OK
Click select.
Now you will enter the Repeat Assignment
window that I described earlier.

Hope this will help

In Sonar, there's a loop tool... you just type in the 2 measure numbers, press PLAY and it starts to loop from #A to #B... you shouldn't have to add any markings (that would have to be removed afterwards, etc...) to your score...
Finale should have an equivalent... It should be in the playback options... Actually you can have it play back from measure #A to measure #B already.. it just lacks a loop capability...
Unless someone says I missed something, I'll do a feature request for F2005...
